Today, Build Academy and Liter of Light launch our new crowd-solving challenge, Building Solar Lights. The goal of this challenge is to generate designs for cost-effective sustainable solar energy and lights for the people living in underdeveloped areas where there is no affordable solution to get lights and in areas affected by disaster. The deadline to join our challenge is May 31, while the final submissions will be due in July.
The top design prizes will be given to the functionally and aesthetically most successful projects. The best projects will be used by Liter or Light to light up entire villages, and the winning team will exhibit at the United Nations in the Fall of 2017 and receive a cash prize of up to $3000.
