Slot Car Racing Club (Scalextrix) [ Monday & Thursday Lunchtimes ]
There’s a great competition I’d like us to enter:
We have our first superteam:
- Keeran
- Zain
- Muhammed
- Rayan
Who have started designing their racing car bodies – next stage 3D printing and racing in the New Year!
Here’s the plan:
- Year 8’s form teams (sorry this is only open to Y8’s)
- You Design the car – Using 3D modelling software such as Sketchup or Fusion 360 you’ll design a sports car (within pre-set diameters)
- You Test the car – Using wind tunnel modelling software
- You Build the car – on a standardised analogue chassis
- You Race the car – internally on an analogue racetrack (Scalectrix)
- The winner goes on to represent the school nationally using a digital chassis
